When law students took law in their hands

On Saturday night, Adarsh Nagar Police station was gheraoed by the bevy of law students of the University of Delhi. This came as an effect due to the thrashing and maltreatment of law Faculty students by the police.

According to a third-year law student, Pramod Kumar, he was ravaged by the temptation by some police officers, he also alleged that onslaughts were carried by the officers, gave him 3rd-degree torture and even passed lewd comments on him. He said that he even tried to lodge a complaint at the Maurice Nagar Police station, but the cops there told him to go to Adarsh Nagar Police station as the matter doesn’t fall into their jurisdiction.

In his complaint, he said that on August 25, at about 1.15 pm, he received a call from Adarsh Nagar Police Station. He was informed that the three-person, had been arrested including him and his nephew. When he reached there, the cops started beating him furthermore they smacked him on his private parts.

Pramod Kumar’s Nephew has been incarcerated in early March 2019 under section 12 of POSCO act. But he is now out of jail. What’s more, his nephew has charges of extortion and Arms act, FIR has also been lodged against him at Adarsh Nagar Police station.

DCP Arya said that an FIR has been registered based on Mr Pramod complaint under relevant sections, including SC/ST Act. In addition, a probe has been initiated. This is a blot on the name of Police.

The law system of India is becoming polluted day by day. Seeing their fellow member in danger the other student members gheraoed the police premises in order to punish the concerned authority. The government policy has proved as a blot on mankind.
