The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota, has been implemented by the University this year, following the Government’s orders for the same. After the implementation of this new category, there has been a 10% increase in the total number of seats offered by the Delhi University.
As per the data released by the Delhi University, a total of 9090 students, applied for admissions under the EWS category, for 2019 admissions. Out of the total of 9090 applications, 5,528 are male, and 3,562 are female candidates. The University has implemented the EWS category for the first time this year, increasing the total number of seats offered by DU, by 10%, under both Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses.
Now that the first cut-off list, for 2019 admissions has been released, candidates will now need to undergo a thorough document verification process. Reporting centres for the same have been made operational at various colleges in the university in both North and South campuses. For document verification process, candidates are advised to carry the following documents to the reporting centre
- Printout of the DU Admission Application Form
- Original copy of Class 10 and Class 12 Board Mark-sheets
- Category Certificates and Documents, if applicable
- Three Passport size photographs
- Self-attested photocopies of all the documents
After going through the document verification process, students will have to report to the assigned college to complete the admission formalities and pay the fee, which will be done online, to freeze their admission with the any particular college.
