Tensed about going to the office on Independence Day no need to worry about as the metro will ply on a usual basis as they used to. As said by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on 15 August all the metro stations will remain open. Therefore you are going to get no difficulty in commuting on 15th August which is coincidentally both Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day.
But one should keep in mind that the security will be extremely tight in Delhi NCR. Due to the high-security system the entry and exit at the four stations, these include the following- Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate, and ITO stations which falls on the violet line. As per the elevated security guidelines, every parking around is closed from 14 August morning till 15 August evening.
The reason behind such slew security arrangements is to avoid any belligerent activities. In order to aid people at Lal Quila station on Independence Day extra ticket counters will be employed at the stations. Also, the additional staff will be incorporated to cater to people after the ceremony. Security conditions have also been maximized around the Airport area as well.
To clinch that the traffic conditions are well targeted the government has issued an advisory for its functioning. According to this advisory, seven roads will be terminated for general masses from 4 am to 10 am, these roads include- Netaji Subhas Marg, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj Marg, Esplanade road, its link road, and Ring Road to Y point. Those buses whose stops are at Lal Quila and Jama Masjid will be curtailed or their routes will be diverted. During the 73 rd Independence Day Ceremony, PM Narendra Modi will hoist the flag from the Iconic Red Fort.
