An eminent BJP Leader and Member of Parliament, Manoj Tiwari has paved way for the ease of differently abled students studying in University of Delhi. Recently, he has flagged off funds for buying two additional buses solely for “differently abled students”. This development is going to incur funds of approximately 19.90 lakhs from the Member of Parliament local area developmental scheme (MPLADS). Manoj tiwari while having an official communication with the Commissioner, East Delhi Municipal Corporation he stated that two Tata Winger Motor vehicles would be purchased and for this a budget of 19 lakhs is estimated.
Here are some lines from the official letter:
- The aforementioned work need to be carefully scrutinized.
- The technical, financial and administrative sanctions need to be issued within 75 days of receipt of this letter.
- According to MPLADS guides the above sanctioned work should be finished as soon as possible.
DUSU (Delhi University Students’ Union) president Shakti Singh said he already went to MP with the proposal, Despite continuous demands by the University of Delhi Administration they were not paid a heed. University keeps on ranting about the shortage of funds. This initiative of purchasing two new vehicles from the MPLADS funds is certainly going to aid the student. The ones who are differently abled needs many more of such facilities such as special hostels, study material and tangible paths. They need specially catered amenities in every sphere of life so that they can feel themselves equal with every normal human being.
Perks of MPLADS scheme :
Under the above mentioned scheme every Member of Parliament has the prerogative to propose to the District Collector for assignments and works to the extent of Rs 5 crores per annum to be considered by his/her constituency.
