The principal, Anulya Maurya, of Kalindi college has been reportedly alleged over financial irregularities as addressed in the CAG reports. The governing body of the college, in response to this, decided to send its principal on leave but the decision was soon retaliated by the Delhi University Teacher’s Association along with the members of the DU’s executive council who reached the campus to demonstrate a protest until the GB withdrew its decision.
The GB chairman, Deepak Marwah has stated to have written to the vice-chancellor Yogesh Tyagi to run an inquiry against the principal.
The irregularities mentioned in the CAG reports included disobeying general financial rules for acquisition of articles and mismanagement of provident funds. GB chairman Marwah asserted that the GB had taken the inquiry referred to unanimously but clearly the principal and the teacher-member showed dissent. “Since we wanted a free and fair enquiry, we wanted the principal to go on a leave,” said Marwah.
On the other hand, Maurya said that she had guaranteed to reply to CAG’s objection. She said, “they wanted to transfer the PF funds to some other bank to which the teachers and I objected.”
