The captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team Harmanpreet Kaur strikes her first introductory T20I Century during the opening match of India.
It was the opening match of Group B in the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 against New Zealand in Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Kaur became the first Indian woman to score a century in T20I. She ranks third in world cricket to score a T20I International century.
In batting order 5, she made a record of 134 runs in partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues bringing India to the lead.
Rodrigues too made a record by scoring a half-century.
The 29-year-old bashed seven 4s, eight 6s before eventually being dismissed for 103. The sixes in the first innings were beautifully placed by the star player Harmanpreet who owns them all.
She now has the most number of sixes for India in a T20 inning, beating her own record of five against Sri Lanka in September this year.
The Woman-In-Blue helped the Indian team attain victory at a score of 94/5 in 20 overs and this was the highest India ever scored in the World Woman’s T20.
