Madan Lal Khurana who was the former Chief Minister of Delhi took his last breath at his residence on Saturday night. He was 82 years old and had been unwell for a while now. He is persevered by his wife, a son and two daughters.
A doyen of the BJP, Khurana was the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1993 to 1996 and was appointed as the governor of Rajasthan in 2004.
Harish Khurana, the son of the former Minister informed that his father took his last breath around 11 pm at his residence at Kirti Nagar. He also stated that he was suffering from a persistent fever and chest infection from the last few days and was feeling breathless since Saturday morning.
He has suffered a brain hemorrhage about five years ago and was indisposed since then. His last rights would be held on this Sunday as reported by the family.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his deepest condolence on the demise of the former Chief Minister.BJP chief Amit Shah also expressed his solace through a tweet.
Shah also pronounced that Khurana had a key role in reinforcing the organization in Delhi and was popularly known as “Lion of Delhi’.
Textile Minister Smriti Irani and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also expressed their grief on social media. Union Minister Harsh Vardhan also expressed his solicitude.
