With the release of 4th cut off this Saturday, around 5,700 students have been admitted in various Delhi University colleges. North campus-based Ramjas saw a huge number of students willing to take admission in B. Com honors with 125 seats being filled on Monday for the same. Whereas South campus-based Aryabhatta reported BSC mathematics and B.A English honors to be more preferred. According to officials, total admissions till now stand at 58,558 after 1577 withdrawals.

Reportedly a DUTA (Delhi Universities Teacher’s Associations ) strike was ongoing for two days where teachers were urged not to do any official work, there were chances of the same to hamper the admission dates and process but fortunately, the admission process went smooth with hassle free strikes.

The protest has been going on due to hasty implementations of Economically weaker section reservations of the teaching positions in all government colleges of DU which is further going to have a grievous effect by replacing hundreds of ad -hoc teachers.

A DU college principal told the officials saying the strike was called without consultation and planning and that is why it did not affect the admission process.

The 5th cutoff list is expected to be released next week, after which special drive will be launched by Delhi University for filling the remaining seats.
