As the new batch of students will enter their respective DU colleges in upcoming weeks.
Keeping in mind freshers safety and security against ragging, the University has undergone to enforce strict anti-ragging mechanism with the help of Delhi Police.
With the success of last year’s efforts, where no ragging incidents were reported. The senior staff members from DU and officials from DTC, metro held a meeting where the rules were re-enforced for anti-ragging and anti-harassment measures. Special attention will be paid to colleges for girls, to near which women cops will be stationed. For Specific metro stations, the appointment of constables will be implemented so that ragging doesn’t take place even outside the campuses.
As per the University guidelines, all colleges have to set up their individual Anti Ragging Cells and Squads to control and prevent ragging, harassments etc, within their campus.
Specifically, campus wise helpline call centre has also been re-enforced. The helpline number for the north campus is 27667221 and for the south campus is 24119832.
While students were being admitted in various cutoffs, colleges made it mandatory for parents and students to sign the anti-ragging form along with the documents.
The varsity officials also have put up various anti-ragging posters in both English and Hindi with CCTV surveillance in the sensitive areas of the campus.
