On 9 September, the University of Delhi welcomed the delegates of the University of Wollongong accompanied by the former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist. The delegates of UOW were represented by its vice-chancellor Professor Paul Wellings. The topics discussed in the interaction were about the future alliance between UOW and DU Furthermore, topics such as Market, Economy, Business studies, Science & Technology, and Law. Gillchrist discussed with the students about how some students even got admissions on sports and cricket. The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on building academic and research relations between the two varsities.
ABOUT ADAM GILCHRIST:
He is a renowned Australian cricketer now, a commentator. Accolades to his name are he has been the Captain of the Australian cricket team. He was well-known for his attacking style of batting and was an experienced wicket-keeper. Under his tenure, the Australian cricket team was reshaped and became self-sufficient. He is the proud holder of many records, for instance- most dismissals in ODI (One Day International) as a wicketkeeper and many more. Apart from cricket Gilchrist is an active social worker he is an ambassador for the charity “World vision in India”.
