Inclusion of Liberal Arts Education will help improve the system of higher education in India: Prof. M.K. Sridhar.
Yesterday, the ABVP led Delhi University Students’ Union, in collaboration with the APJ Abdul Kalam Study Circle, organized a dialogue programme to discuss various points on the proposed new National Policy on Education at the Constituency Club in Delhi. The programme was presided by the ABVP’s National Organising Secretary Shri. Sunil Ambekar and a member of the new National Policy Committee Prof. M. K. Sridhar shared his views on various points of the National Policy on Education while addressing the professors, researchers and students of Delhi University, JNU and Jamia.
It may be noted that the ABVP has been spreading awareness on the National Policy on Education through dialogue, discussions etc. in various premier educational institutions of the nation.
Prof. M.K. Sridhar, member of the New Education Policy Committee, said, “The policy and its implementation are both different subjects. I hope this policy will be implemented as it has been formulated. The policy will change the entire education system by 2022. The first 15 years of education is a very important part of education. That has also been taken care of by the new policy. By the Age of 11, the learning process was showing a lack of abstraction. That is also being corrected through this. There has to be a change in the way higher education is imparted in the country. A provision for degree granting autonomous colleges will also be in the National Policy on Education to provide easier access to higher education.”
ABVP welcomes the new education policy and urges academicians, lecturers, researchers across the country to make their suggestions on this new National Education Policy. This policy would be responsible of overall development of the country and an effective implemention of the policy would be the first stepping stone towards this goal. Your suggestions would be a valuable in the finalization of the same. “
The dialogue programme was attended by the National Co-organising Secretary Srinivas , Delhi University Students Union President Shakti Singh, Convener of APJ Abdul Kalam Study Circle Abhishek Verma, etc.
