On 11, November 2019 students of Delhi University’s North campus joined the protest against the construction of a 39-story building being constructed on a “public Land”.
According to them, the building is being constructed by a private builder on public land. As per the information initially, the land was given to DMRC and authorities of DMRC sold to it a private builder.
Now students are demanding to stop the construction of this building and to build a hostel for students because there is a shortage of hostels. Akash Choudhary, Former DUSU Secretary said that students who come from different states come to Delhi University and hostels are enough to accommodate all the students who study at Delhi University.
So, that’s why students are demanding the University administration to construct a hostel on this public land.
Many Delhi University professors and students joined this protest.
