Yesterday, ABVP achieved tremendous success by winning three DUSU Central Panel seats. ABVP’s Akshit Dahiya, the Presidential candidate, Pradeep Tanwar, the Vice-Presidential candidate, and Shivangi Kharwal, the Joint-Secretarial candidate were the respective winners. The total votes polled and the victory margin for ABVP’s DUSU (2019-2020) Presidential candidate, Akshit Dahiya, are without parallel.
Akshit Dahiya, DUSU (2019-2020) President, said, “I am grateful to the student-voters for this exceptional victory. We would start working for an accountable and student-friendly DUSU forthwith.”
Pradeep Tanwar, DUSU (2019-2020) Vice-President, said, “I hope to make some positive structural changes in the Students’ Union. I would also attempt to creatively channelise the students’ energy towards finding local solutions for global problems like environmental degradation and water scarcity”.
Shivangi Kharwal, DUSU (2019-2020) Joint Secretary, said, “It is not just mine but collective victory of all female students of the university. The new ABVP led DUSU will follow in the footsteps of the previous one in keeping our campus safe for female students and promoting women-empowerment.”
Sidharth Yadav, State Secretary, ABVP, Delhi, said, “This victory is a referendum on ABVP’s achievements and enduring struggles for students’ rights. The student-voters have entrusted their faith in us and we will try our best to live by it. Our actions will be guided towards achieving the goals set out in our vision document – Vision 2022”.
