Good news for residents of Noida as the Blue Line metro would soon be interlinked with NH-24.
The 6.6 km Noida City Centre-Electronic City (sector 62) awaits inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), SK Pathak. The inspection is scheduled for 4th March.
This 6.6 km stretched line with 6 metro stations is supposed to accommodate passengers from the most densely populated areas of Noida. While the last station on this line would be ‘Noida electronic city’, near Indirapuram.
The Dwarka Sector 21- Noida electronic City is supposed to be the second longest metro corridor of the city only after Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar line.
Apart from being a boon to thousands of commuters from Noida, the inauguration of this line would also boost ridership in the recently introduced Aqua line.
The Aqua Line has unfortunately proved to be a failure since there was no connectivity to Delhi. A walkway between Aqua Line’s terminal station (Sector 51) and Sector 52 of Blue Line is being constructed at the moment, to allow convenient transit for the commuters.
A DMRC official said,
“The six stations on this section will cater to the densely populated areas of Noida. The residential area, primarily consisting of housing societies in sectors 32,52 and 22, will immensely benefit from this section as they will be able to board trains from their own neighbourhoods to reach different areas of NCR.”
