A new technique of pickpocketing has surfaced in the capital. The pickpocketer collides with a random person and then comes close to the victim pretending to apologize.
Durga Kumar, from Jharkhand, became a victim of such an incident but was able to catch the pickpocketer after he stole Durga’s mobile. The incident took place in Paharganj when the pickpocketer went with the strategy of colliding and later apologizing for the same by hugging the person. Durga soon realized that his mobile phone was missing. He chased the pickpocketer and caught him.
The Police got to know that he was the member of a gang called the ‘Sorry Gang’. Police were able to catch the other 3 members of the gang. The police also got to know that within the last 48 hours, the gang had committed 3 similar crimes.
All the members of the ‘Sorry Gang’, who were arrested are minors. They operate in crowded market areas of the national capital. They were most active in market areas like Karol Bagh, Paharganj, Kamla Nagar, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, and Darya Ganj. Tourists and businessmen were the soft targets.
