Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarathi Parishad and DUSU organized a massive protest against Delhi University Administration. Finally, the Vice Chancellor has agreed to meet the ABVP Delegation tomorrow.
Today ABVP and DUSU organized a massive protest with hundreds of students against DU administration at Arts Faculty.
ABVP and DUSU raised demands such as organizing supplementary examinations, 24×7 library, construction of new hostels, increase in the diet for sports students, availability of gynaecologist in colleges, tactile paths for visually challenged students and many such issues.
Addressing the students in protest, DUSU President Shakti Singh said ” from long time we have been raising student’s issues to Administration, but they have turned deaf to our pleas. DU Administration doesn’t pay any heed to DU Central Library, or college libraries and so adequate number of libraries and hostels aren’t available to fulfil required demands. It is a lack of seriousness on part of DU Administration that DU is now falling down in University rankings.”
DUSU Joint Secretary Jyoti Chaudhary said ” availability of gynaecologist in every college is very important, many colleges claim of having medical rooms but facilities ain’t working properly. It is the need of the hour that these issues be looked upon.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sidharth Yadav said ‘ ABVP has been raising student-centric basic issues and has been fighting for students’ demands from a long time.
The administration has failed the student community and took no step in solving the problems. Finally, After today’s protest, VC has agreed to meet our representatives and if in tomorrow’s meeting VC doesn’t agree to students’ demands then our struggle will continue.’
