ABVP and DUSU protested outside the office of HoDs of 5 Departments of DU in unison .
Yesterday, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad marched outside the office of The Head of Departments of English , Sociology , Political Science, History and Hindi (five departments of Delhi University) and democratically voiced the issues of students led by ABVP and DUSU, demanding for immediate action for the same.
ABVP and DUSU have sought support from the academic world for representation of the students with regard to the inclusion of three R’s in the syllabus i.e. representation, review of syllabus and rational debate.
ABVP emphasised on the need for democratisation of academia.
DUSU President Shakti Singh said, “It is very unfortunate for the University of Delhi that while classes have started, the syllabus has not yet been prepared. The entire Left-wing professors and the administration of Delhi University must be held responsible for this. We demand the administration to bring in a new syllabus considering the demands of the students at the earliest so that the students’ studies are not affected further.”
Sidharth Yadav, State Secretary of ABVP DELHI stated, “At Delhi University, we have always supported the participation of students on crucial decisions undertaken on their behalf. We demand the inclusion of three R(Review, Representation, Rational debate) in the syllabus. Left students and teacher organisations should rise above their anti-student and anti-democratic mindset and stop their narrow propaganda against the genuine movement of students.”
