The upcoming academic session 2019-20 will provide students seeking admission in DU, with more opportunities as the Varsity’s Academic Council has decided to introduce 30 new courses.

This change will be effective in around 20 colleges at both graduation and post-graduation level.
The courses were first passed by University’s Standing Committee for Academic Affairs in September,2018. However the Academic Council took the decision recently.
The Academic Council has approved the introduction of 30 courses at under-graduation and post-graduation level in around 20 DU colleges from academic session 2019-20.
The decision intends to make more courses available in colleges so that students have more options. Also, 10 vocational courses will be introduced in some colleges from the upcoming session.

The Academic Council has also increased the number of seats in some existing courses.
The number of seats in B.A. programme in at Hansraj College has increased from 40 to 200.
For Aditi Mahavidyalaya the number of seats in B.Sc. program has increased from 55 to 80 and in B.Com(H) the number of seats had increased by 50.
The decision has been taken keeping in mind that most of the students are not able to gain admission in DU colleges even after scoring good marks, because of the limited number of seats.
